Can Somebody explain why my thinking is wrong?

Ok here are some topics that I have never gotten a satisfactory answer to.
If Christ dwells in us upon the “birthing” why are prayers said by many
in the body that makes the request “Lord come be with us” ?
If Christ dwells (lives) in us how could he get any closer than that?
If we are given ALL of Him at the birthing why do we keep asking for more?

I understand that we can get more love, power, knowledge, faith, or more comfort, from the Holy Spirit, but these seem to be things or atributes, not Him

Your thoughts?

Manifest vs. Immanent Presence

Hi Ralph,

If I have my terminology right, I believe you're asking about the distinction between the "Manifest" and "Immanent" presence of God:

Think about how the Holy Spirit "came down" upon Jesus during His baptism...

"If we are out of our minds, it is for Christ" -- II Cor 5:13

Good point

Ernie, I like those distinctions. We ask the Holy Spirit to come in a manifested way. He is always with us and in us, but we want to experience Him.
